MapMasterŪ Web Server
We are proud to announce the availability of MapMasterŪ Web Server Software and Services. You can now have your data, and databases available to others on the World Wide Web, or within your own company Intranet.. Due to MapMasters compression and redraw speed, it has now become possible to regenerate a map, with Landmarks, so quickly that the processing time is minimal compared to the natural WWW transmission delays, thus making REAL TIME GIS ON THE WEB a reality.
The Web Server Software is available to be run on your own server(s), or your data may be displayed on one of NedGraphics Web Servers. Both the Software and Services are available from NedGraphics.
The Web Server Map Window has 4 main functional areas:
- The top set of buttons control Location Searches, Routing and Proximity Searches. Below the buttons is a report area that contains the results of the searches or route.
- The area on the right side controls what landmarks (Red or Green Squares) are seen on the MAP, as well a providing links to Live SQLs (Orange Circles), that will be run upon selection. Also available are previously defined images(Yellow Circles), reports(Blue Circles), and AVIs and for those with ActiveX capable browsers, download of Excel Spreadsheets, Access Databases, Word Documents, PowerPoint Presentations, and other Microsoft Applications(Pink Circles). Also available are hyperlinks to other URL's(Blue Circles). Everything except the Landmarks is activated by selecting it with the mouse. Landmarks are turned on (Green Square) or off (Red Square) by selecting with the mouse, but will not become visible unless the Submit button is selected, or a re-draw of the map occurs.
- Between the Search Report Area and the Map Display is the Zoom Control area, which allows the user to set his map display height. The User may move around on the map by simply clicking with the mouse on the map. The Location of the click will become the new center of the map display.
- The Map Display is used to set the location of a tag or redraw the map at a new center, by clicking on the map with the mouse.

Graphic Database Records can be displayed on the map (Shown as a series of purple squares), and are available to be selected as tags, or routed to or from. The Report Area has abbreviated record data and buttons to bring up the Search/List Report Window (the blue dots). If 'Tag it' is selected, the current tag is moved to that record location. If 'Route to it' is selected, the system will route from the current start location to this DB Record's location.

The Search Criteria Window provides and controls access to the data for the records.

The records may be stepped through with the NEXT and LAST Buttons on the right side. Different Views of the data may be stepped through with the VIEW pulldown menu, and an HTML file suitable for printing and displaying the data may be requested with the PRE-Print button.
The user may change the Main Map Display window through the use of the Map pulldown menu.
Different hyperlinks for each records are available in the Hyperlink pulldown menu.
Selecting the Thumbnail image in the lower right of the List/Report window toggles the expanded view of the data, with on overview of the area.
Selecting the Report Button changes the Search/List/Report Window to report mode (Selecting VIEWS will return to the List Mode). Here fields from the database may be selected for a report to be generated by selecting the Submit Report Button. Four different Report styles are available and can be toggled by selecting the ASCII button at the right side of the window. In both the Report and List modes, criteria may be entered to narrow the search and reduce the number of records retrieved and/or reported on.

Below is an example of the HTML 2 report, with an overview of the area, thumbnails of each record (which may be selected to obtain a blow up), and the selected fields from the report.

Routing on the Main Map display window results in a print ready graphic report containing images of the route along with routing instructions.
